Founded in New Britain, CT in 1923 the Keeney family of products has grown from coin air valves, to brass and plastic under sink repair parts, to quarter turn valves, bath drains, toilet repair parts and many more. Annually, The Keeney Manufacturing Company sponsors the Newington Library 5K Challenge. All proceeds from the 5K Challenge benefit the Lucy Robbins Welles Library. May of 2010 marks the 14th running of the 5K road race. For more information on how to participate.
On a monthly basis, The Keeney Manufacturing Company sponsors a Dress Down Day in support of a local charity. The employees are able to dress to impress in their favorite Keeney casual clothing, including jeans, and in exchange for their comfort they contribute monetary donations to the charity of the month. The Keeney Manufacturing Carole Lipka Scholarship est. 2008 is given annually to a Newington High School senior female student enrolled in the fields of Marketing, Finance, Accounting or Engineering pursuing a career in Manufacturing. The Lipka Scholarship was established upon the retirement of a 50 year veteran employee of The Keeney Manufacturing Company.
