Installation:
Direct connection - illustrated:

1. Turn off water at the tap.
2. Invert nut A and drop short tailpiece insert into it.
3. Slide nut C and poly washer onto insert.
4. Join insert assembly to branch tailpiece.
5. Place new branch tailpiece up to the strainer. Measure distance required and cut to length if necessary.
6. Loosen nut D and nut B on J Bend. Drop J Bend and discard existing tailpiece.
7. Attach hose to spout of branch tailpiece.
8. Put washer E into top slip nut. 9. Attach branch tailpiece to strainer loosely.
9. Put nut D and washer from J Bend on branch tailpiece.
10. Position J Bend and hand tighten nuts D and B.
11. Direct spout of branch tailpiece in the direction of dishwasher for easy drainage.
12. Tighten all nuts securely. Run water to test for leaks.

Slip joint connection - not illustrated:

1. Turn off water at the tap.
2. Place new branch tailpiece up to the strainer. Measure distance required and cut to length if necessary.
3. Loosen nut D and nut B on J Bend. Drop J Bend and discard existing tailpiece.
4. Attach hose to spout of branch tailpiece.
5. Place nut C and poly washer on extension attached to sink strainer.
6. Attach branch tailpiece to nut C loosely.
7. Put nut D and washer from J Bend on branch tailpiece.
8. Position J Bend and hand tighten nuts D and B.
9. Direct spout of branch tailpiece in the direction of dishwasher for easy drainage.
10. Tighten all nuts securely. Run water to test for leaks.

Installation hints:

1. Put thread sealant tape or pipe dope on the drain threads before attaching nuts. This will provide a better seal against leaks.
2. Use a scrap of cloth to protect the finish on the nuts when you tighten with a pipe wrench.
